Cop Out (Review)

I watched the 2010 comedy from director Kevin Smith the film Cop Out it is the first movie Kevin Smith directed but did not write. It really shows because it was no way funny as his previous works (Clerks, Chasing Amy, and Dogma etc.)  It was a good film but I am a huge Smith fan and the whole time watching it I was waiting for Jay and Silent Bob to show up. But I know Kevin Smith has tried to distance himself from the characters he created seventeen years ago. Don’t get me wrong this is a good film the plot goes this way two N.Y.P.D Detectives James "Jimmy" Monroe (Bruce Willis) and Paul Hodges (Tracy Morgan) have been partners for nine years we find this out when Paul (Tracy Morgan) gives  Jimmy a anniversary card. Then we get to see Paul integrate a drug dealer using a lot of movie quotes that are pretty funny even a quote from the film Die Hard which is funny. The Drug dealer becomes an informant for Jimmy (Bruce Willis) and Paul (Tracy Morgan). They set up a sting to take down the drug dealer’s supplier. Jimmy (Bruce Willis) is waiting in the car across the street from the cell phone shop where the drug dealer’s supplier drops off the drugs while Paul (Tracy Morgan) is outside the shop dressed up like a giant cell phone. This scene starts a chain reaction of bad things for a couple of dicks starting with the two being suspend for a month without pay. Jimmy losing his prize baseball card that he needs to sell to pay for his daughter’s wedding and Paul thinking his wife is cheating on him. The film has its ups and downs but overall it is an entertaining film and one I think you should check out. Stay nerdy people.
